Get Started (BSC)

Welcome! This guide walks you from zero → first trade → liquidity → farming → rebates on BNB Smart Chain (BSC). It’s written for both Mainnet and Testnet (we’re running public testnet)

1) Install a wallet

  • MetaMask (Chrome/Brave/Firefox), Rabby, or any WalletConnect wallet works.

  • Create / import your wallet and back up your seed phrase securely.

2) Add BSC networks to your wallet

You can use either Mainnet or Testnet.

BSC Mainnet

  • Network name: BNB Smart Chain

  • RPC URL: https://bsc-dataseed.binance.org

  • Chain ID: 56

  • Currency symbol: BNB

  • Block explorer: https://bscscan.com

BSC Testnet

  • Network name: BNB Smart Chain Testnet

  • RPC URL: https://data-seed-prebsc-1-s1.binance.org:8545

  • Chain ID: 97

  • Currency symbol: tBNB

  • Block explorer: https://testnet.bscscan.com

Tip: in MetaMask, click Add networkAdd a network manually → paste the values above.

3) Fund your wallet

  • Mainnet: send a little BNB to your wallet for gas.

  • Testnet: get tBNB from a public faucet (for gas). If you’re testing swaps with stablecoins, mint/get test tokens from common testnet sources.

You only need a very small amount of (t)BNB to cover gas.

4) Connect to Paragon

  1. Open the Paragon app.

  2. Click Connect and choose your wallet.

  3. Ensure your wallet network matches the app network (Mainnet or Testnet).

5) Make your first swap

  1. Go to Swap.

  2. Choose the token you want to pay with and the token you want to receive.

  3. Enter an amount.

  4. If prompted, Approve the token (one-time per token).

  5. Swap and confirm in your wallet.

What you’ll see (on Paragon)

  • Paragon Shield (MEV & privacy) toggle. Keep it on for best execution.

  • Intents & Batching (testnet): your swap is treated as an intent. Our solver batches trades and tries to beat your minOut.

  • “You saved …” banner after the trade if we found surplus. You can claim the cashback instantly.

6) Provide liquidity (LP)

Providing liquidity lets other users trade through your pair and earns you fees.

  1. Go to Add Liquidity.

  2. Select a pair (e.g., XPGN/USDT).

  3. Deposit both tokens in equal value (or use Zap to enter with one token, where available).

  4. Confirm. You’ll receive LP tokens representing your share of the pool.

LP earnings:

  • 0.25% of swap volume (AMM v2 fee share) goes to LPs.

  • Flow earnings (testnet): when your pool is used by a winning path, surplus shares accrue to LPs of that pool (claimable separately).

7) Farm (boost rewards)

  1. Go to Farms.

  2. Find the pool that matches your LP tokens.

  3. Approve the farm, then Stake your LP.

  4. You’ll earn $XPGN on top of LP fees, plus LP Flow earnings if your pool is utilized.

You can Unstake any time. Standard AMM risks (like impermanent loss) apply.

8) stXPGN (PID-0) — lock for governance & streams

  • Deposit XPGN → stXPGN (1:1-ish, auto-compounding vault).

  • Benefits: governance, locker surplus stream (your share of surplus directed to lockers), and boosted yields where applicable.

  • To exit, Unstake and you’ll receive XPGN at the current vault rate.

9) Rebates & Streams (what you can claim)

  • Trader Rebate (instant): visible right after your swap if the solver beat your minOut. Click Claim or Auto-stake to stXPGN.

  • LP Flow Earnings: visible on pool/LP pages. Claim pro-rata by the liquidity used in winning routes.

  • Locker Stream (stXPGN/veFlow): accrues over epochs; claim from the lockers page.

These are surplus-based and independent of emissions. If there’s no surplus on a trade, there’s simply nothing to claim for that trade.

10) Advanced (optional)

  • veFlow & Gauges (coming online): lock XPGN to veFlow (NFT) to direct which routes/pairs receive surplus share and utilization-weighted emissions.

  • Bribes: protocols can bribe order-flow to attract intents to their pools (not just “TVL gauges”).

  • External routing (later phase): solver can route across Paragon + external venues for best execution.

11) Testnet notes

  • Liquidity is smaller than mainnet → use slightly higher slippage (e.g., 0.5–1.0%) on thin pairs.

  • Features under active testing: Intents & batching, rebates, LP flow earnings, locker streams.

  • If a UI action stalls, refresh and check your wallet & explorer; testnets can hiccup.

12) Common fixes

  • “Insufficient allowance” → click Approve again, wait for confirmation, then retry.

  • “Wrong network” → switch wallet to BSC (56) or BSC Testnet (97).

  • Price/Slippage errors → raise slippage a bit or reduce size; try a more liquid route.

  • No rebate shown → not every trade has surplus. If actualOutminOut, there’s nothing to distribute (that’s normal).

13) Safety

  • Paragon is non-custodial. Your funds stay in your wallet or in audited smart contracts you opted into.

  • Verify token addresses from the official contract list before large trades.

  • Start with small amounts; gas is cheap on BSC, so practice first.

14) Where next?

  • Swap: try a few test trades and claim a Trader Rebate.

  • LP: add liquidity to a core pair and watch Flow earnings.

  • Farm: stake your LP to earn XPGN.

  • stXPGN: deposit to join locker streams and governance.
